Electric Mortar Grinder Systems

Electric Mortar Grinding Systems

Precision Grinding, Mixing and Homogenization for Laboratory Samples

The RM 200 Mortar Grinder provides reliable, reproducible preparation of powders, suspensions, pastes, and high-viscosity materials for laboratory analysis. Using controlled pressure and friction between the rotating mortar and offset pestle, the RM 200 efficiently grinds, mixes, homogenizes, and triturates samples to analytical fineness.

Adjustable pestle and scraper pressure ensure consistent processing, while the enclosed, dust-tight grinding chamber helps maintain a clean working environment. Suitable for dry, wet, and cryogenic grinding, the RM 200 accommodates a wide variety of materials and applications across the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, agricultural, ceramics, construction materials, and geological industries.

Interchangeable grinding sets are available in several materials to minimize contamination and provide the ideal configuration for each sample.

How Mortar Grinders Work

Electric mortar grinding uses a motor-driven mortar bowl that rotates beneath an offset pestle. As the mortar turns, the sample is drawn into the contact zone where adjustable pressure and friction between the mortar and pestle crush, grind, mix, and homogenize the material. A scraper continuously moves material from the bowl wall back toward the grinding area, helping ensure uniform processing and preventing buildup.

This controlled, automated action produces more consistent and reproducible results than manual mortar-and-pestle grinding and is suitable for powders, pastes, suspensions, and other difficult laboratory samples.
