Alphie Powder Blender Production Models

Our larger industrial and production-scale 3D inversion mixers are designed for efficient, gentle, and highly uniform mixing of powders, granules, flakes, pellets, and other dry materials. Unlike conventional mixers that rely on high-speed blades or aggressive agitation, the 3D inversion mixing motion moves the entire container through a controlled, multi-directional tumbling pattern. This helps promote consistent blending while reducing shear, heat generation, product degradation, and segregation.

These mixers are ideal for production environments that require reliable batch-to-batch consistency, clean operation, and flexible container handling. They are commonly used for pharmaceuticals, battery materials, chemicals, ceramics, food ingredients, nutraceuticals, polymers, metal powders, and other demanding industrial materials.

Industrial 3D inversion mixers are available in sizes ranging from 100 liters to over 1,500 liters, making them suitable for pilot-scale production, full production batches, and high-volume processing applications.

Systems are available in both standard powder-coated finishes for general industrial use and GMP stainless steel construction for sanitary, pharmaceutical, food, and cleanroom applications. Depending on the process requirements, mixers can be supplied with either removable containers for easier loading, unloading, cleaning, and material transfer, or fixed-container designs for dedicated production lines and larger batch processing.

MANY CONTAINERS, MULTIPLE OPTIONS

The Alphie 10 Liter Powder Blender is designed to work with a wide range of interchangeable containers, from small vials and sample bottles up to 10 liter effective capacity blending vessels. This flexibility allows laboratories to process very small R&D samples, formulation trials, and larger laboratory batches using the same mixing platform. Containers can be supplied in multiple materials to match the application, including plastic, glass, and several grades of stainless steel. For stainless steel vessels, multiple polishing and surface-finish options are available, including finishes suitable for applications requiring cleanability, corrosion resistance, or electro-polished product-contact surfaces. By blending material inside a dedicated removable container, each batch remains isolated from the machine and from previous formulations, helping reduce cleaning time, protect sample integrity, and minimize the risk of cross-contamination between batches.

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPAL

The Alphie 50 Liter Powder Blender operates using a 3D inversion mixing principle, where the sealed mixing container moves through a multi-directional tumbling motion to continuously reposition the powder bed. Instead of using internal blades, paddles, or agitators, the material is gently blended inside a detachable container as it rotates and inverts through changing angles. This motion helps powders, granules, liquids, and suspensions achieve a uniform blend while reducing shear, minimizing product contact with the machine, and lowering the risk of cross-contamination between batches.

LIQUID DOSING SYSTEM
Optional

he 3D inversion mixer can be integrated with a liquid dosing system to add liquid ingredients directly into the mixing container during the blending cycle. Instead of adding the full liquid volume at the start, the dosing system can introduce liquid at controlled intervals, with variable timing and adjustable dosing amounts based on the process requirements. This allows the Alphie mixer to gradually wet powders, coat particles, add binders, introduce solvents, or control moisture content while the material is continuously moving through the 3D inversion motion.

By dosing liquid in stages, the system can help improve distribution, reduce localized overwetting, prevent clumping, and create a more uniform final blend. This is especially useful for applications where liquid addition rate, total volume, and timing have a direct impact on product consistency, flowability, granulation, coating quality, or process repeatability.

RENTAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE

Renting a Glen Mills mixer gives your team the ability to test mixing and blending directly in your own laboratory, using your actual material, process conditions, and analytical methods. This allows you to evaluate performance, confirm homogenity, and determine 3 dimensional mixing is the right solution before making a capital equipment purchase.

Rental units are especially useful for short to long term projects, feasibility studies, process development, and customer trials where flexibility and speed are important. By testing in-house, your scientists and engineers can better understand how the material blends, reducing project risk and helping justify the correct equipment configuration for future production needs.
