Mixer Mill Systems

Mixer Mill Systems

Versatile Laboratory Mills for Grinding, Mixing, Homogenization and Cryogenic Sample Preparation

Mixer mills provide fast, efficient grinding, mixing, and homogenization of small sample volumes through high-frequency impact and friction. Their compact benchtop design makes them ideal for laboratories processing hard, brittle, soft, elastic, fibrous, biological, and temperature-sensitive materials. Depending on the model, mixer mills support dry, wet, and cryogenic grinding, cell disruption by bead beating, nanoscale particle reduction, mechanical alloying, and mechanochemical research.

The product family ranges from the versatile MM 400 for routine sample preparation to the high-throughput MM 500 vario, the MM 500 nano for ultrafine grinding into the nanometer range, and the MM 500 control for precisely monitored heating and cooling.

The dedicated CryoMill provides automated liquid-nitrogen cooling for safe grinding at –196°C. With multiple grinding stations, interchangeable jars, programmable operating procedures, and a wide selection of grinding-tool materials, mixer mills deliver reproducible results for research, quality control, and analytical sample preparation.
