Carbon Steel Balls, Grinding Media, Steel Media
Carbon Steel Balls
Carbon steel balls are a durable, cost-effective grinding and processing media designed for applications that require high impact strength, toughness, and reliable wear performance. Commonly used in ball mills, attritors, vibratory mills, tumbling mills, and other industrial grinding systems, carbon steel balls are well suited for reducing particle size, dispersing materials, and blending powders in dry or wet processing environments.
Their density and hardness make them effective for aggressive milling of minerals, chemicals, pigments, ceramics, metals, and other industrial materials. In addition to grinding applications, carbon steel balls are also used in vibratory finishing, burnishing, polishing, valves, automotive components, mechanical assemblies, and general industrial applications where strength and durability are required.
Available in multiple sizes and grades, carbon steel balls provide a practical solution for customers looking for dependable performance at an economical price.

Grinding Media, Steel Media
Chrome Steel Balls
Chrome steel balls are precision-manufactured, high-hardness steel spheres designed for demanding grinding, bearing, and mechanical motion applications. Produced from chromium alloy steel, they offer excellent wear resistance, dimensional consistency, surface finish, and load-carrying performance. Their hardness and impact strength make them well suited for use as grinding media in chemical processing, industrial grinding, food grinding, and vibratory finishing, where consistent energy transfer and long service life are required.
In addition to grinding applications, chrome steel balls are widely used in high-precision and industrial bearings, ball screws, swivels, quick connects, linear motion systems, oil and gas drilling components, and wind power equipment. Their combination of roundness, durability, compressive strength, and smooth surface quality allows them to perform reliably in systems that require low-friction movement, high contact stress resistance, and repeatable mechanical performance.

Ball Mills, Cryogenic Grinding, Mixer Mills
CryoMill
Cryogenic grinding is a process where thermally sensitive and elastic substances are successfully processed by cooling with liquid nitrogen. The CryoMill is a laboratory ball mill specifically designed for this application. It features an integrated cooling system which continually cools the grinding jar with liquid nitrogen before and during the grinding process. Thus, the sample is embrittled and volatile components are preserved.
The liquid nitrogen is continually supplied from an autofill system in the exact amount required to keep the temperature at –196 °C. The user never comes into direct contact with LN2 which ensures a high degree of operational safety. The CryoMill’s versatility (cryogenic, but also wet and dry grinding at room temperature) makes it the ideal grinder for sample quantities up to 20 ml. Powerful impact ball milling results in highest grinding efficiency.

Cell Disruption
French Press
The French Press G-M® by Glen Mills is a high-pressure laboratory cell disruption system designed for controlled mechanical lysis of biological samples.
Using hydraulic pressure, the French Press forces a cell suspension through a narrow valve, creating shear forces and rapid decompression that rupture cell walls and membranes without the need for beads, harsh chemicals, or excessive heat. Ideal for bacteria, microorganisms, chloroplasts, animal tissue homogenates, and other biological particles, the system is well suited for protein extraction, enzyme recovery, membrane studies, and small-volume research applications.
With pressure capability up to 40,000 psi when used with the standard pressure cell, stainless steel construction, operator-focused safety features, and minimal sample loss, the French Press G-M® provides researchers with a reliable lab-scale solution for high-pressure cell disruption and homogenization.
