How Jet Milling Works
Compressed air or inert gas accelerates particles through converging nozzles inside the grinding chamber. Particles collide with each other at high velocity, reducing size without mechanical contact.

Using high-velocity compressed air or inert gas, the material is accelerated within the grinding chamber where particle-on-particle impact reduces particle size without the need for mechanical grinding media. These systems are well suited for applications requiring narrow particle size distributions, minimal contamination, and scalable process development.
Available in stainless steel construction, our jet mills can also be fitted with abrasion-resistant liners for processing hard, abrasive, or wear-sensitive materials. These systems use high-velocity compressed air or gas to create particle-to-particle collisions inside the grinding chamber, reducing material without the use of mechanical grinding media.
Available in stainless steel construction and with specialized liner options for abrasive or difficult materials, they can be configured to meet a wide range of process requirements. Pilot size systems are ideal for process development, batch optimization, and confirming production parameters, while larger production models provide the capacity, durability, and efficiency needed for continuous or high-volume powder processing.
